Module 3: Introduction to ERDAS Imagine and Digital Data

 In this weeks lab, we were introduced to ERDAS Imagine which allowed for us to utilize and learn how to manipulate complex files that ArcGIS cannot normally handle. We learned about electromagnetic radiation (EMR) and how it is affiliated with remote sensing, as well as how the wavelength is correlated directly with it frequency. This lab was fun because it was based around exploring ERDAS and how the different satellites can compute images based on their sensors and what they detect. I did not know how much physics is involved with GIS! It is a pretty new topic for me but was interesting to learn about and see how it is incorporated with GIS.
